Swayvee is a Nigerian artist, songwriter, performer, and creative director whose genre-fluid approach to music has established him as one of the most exciting voices emerging from Africa’s new generation of artists.

Born Ezekiel Georgewill on March 17, 2000, in Lagos, Nigeria, and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Swayvee’s journey into music began far from industry expectations. Growing up in a family with no musical background, his earliest experiences with music came through street rap battles, cyphers, and informal performances among friends. Performing under the alias “Fatal Emcee,” he developed a deep appreciation for lyricism, performance, and audience connection long before considering music as a professional career.

In 2018, inspired by personal experiences and a growing desire to express himself creatively, Swayvee began pursuing music professionally. Influenced by artists such as Tory Lanez, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Mr. Eazi, and Runtown, he developed a sound that naturally blends Afrobeats, R&B, rap, and alternative music into a style that resists easy categorization.

His early momentum came through a series of Audiomack-exclusive freestyles that quickly gained traction online. What began as support from a small online community evolved into a passionate fanbase known today as the Shhtars. These supporters became a vital part of his journey, helping transform his music from underground discovery into a growing movement.

Throughout his early career, Swayvee consistently demonstrated versatility across projects and collaborations. Releases such as DMS, The Lost Files EP, Magical, All My Life, Waka Waka Baby, and Escape showcased his ability to move between genres while maintaining a distinct artistic identity. His collaborations with artists including Yarden, Zhus Jdo, Morien, Harshterg, Pressplay, and others further expanded his reach and introduced his music to wider audiences.

Beyond music, Swayvee’s vision extended into culture-building. In 2021, he founded Weirdsid3, a multidisciplinary creative collective and community operating at the intersection of music, visual art, fashion, design, and storytelling. More than a creative platform, Weirdsid3 became a home for young creatives seeking freedom beyond conventional artistic boundaries and has since evolved into an expanding ecosystem of creators and cultural contributors.

His commitment to building experiences around music also led to initiatives such as The Rage Room, a creative event platform co-created to provide young people with a space for expression through music, art, and community.

By 2025, years of consistency culminated in a breakthrough moment that would redefine Swayvee’s career. On March 20, 2025, he released “US,” a record that quickly evolved from a fan favorite into a
global viral phenomenon. The song amassed more than 20 million streams across platforms, including
over 6 million streams on Spotify alone, while generating more than 2.5 million TikTok creations
worldwide.

The success of “US” extended far beyond streaming numbers. The record simultaneously reached No.
1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 charts in both Nigeria and South Africa, demonstrating its cross-border impact
and cultural resonance. It also peaked at No. 2 on Apple Music’s R&B Chart, cementing its position as
one of the defining breakout records of the year.

As the song’s popularity grew, it inspired international collaborations and remixes featuring Young
Stunna from South Africa, Gyakie and Olive The Boy from Ghana, Prinz from the United Kingdom, and
Liim’s from France. These collaborations expanded the song’s reach and introduced Swayvee to
audiences across multiple continents.
The momentum generated by “US” translated into real-world impact. Throughout 2025, Swayvee
headlined shows across Nigeria and South Africa, strengthening his connection with audiences while
proving his ability to command stages beyond the digital space. This growth culminated in Catching
sWave: The First Tide, his first headline concert experience, held on December 12, 2025. The event
sold out successfully and marked a defining milestone for both the artist and the growing Shhtar
community.

Following the success of “US,” Swayvee entered 2026 with continued momentum, expanding his
reach through a series of high-profile collaborations across Africa. His feature run included
appearances on PH’s “Favela” alongside Femi Santiago, DIAMONDCUTT’s “Weh Lavo” with K-Zaka,
Lexnour’s “So Up” featuring Vicoka, and “Closer” by THATOHATSI & Tracy alongside ShaunMusiQ and
Cowboii. These releases further showcased his versatility and growing appeal across multiple markets
and audiences.

Now entering a new phase of his career, Swayvee continues to expand the boundaries of his artistry.
The release of Swavey Riddim / Sexxy serves as the opening chapter of PersWaysion, his highly
